The Icon – South Beach

To create a winter escape for a Chicago-based couple, Kari used bright, warm colors, reminiscent of the ocean. With the blending of “moderne” and Art Deco, the condo is not something of which they will quickly tire. The curved sofa, covered in a chartreuse chamois, the Deco club chairs in sharkskin leather, and the modernist coffee table, in macassar ebony all serve to infuse the small, angular space with soft curves. Antique light fixtures, side tables and accessories add an understated elegance. The custom onyx dining table is sophisticated and unexpected. Custom floccati-style rugs add a whimsical touch to the bedrooms.
